Key Takeaways

  • Outlook Recall allows Mac users to unsend emails similar to Gmail’s feature.
  • The capability is available for Microsoft 365 Insider program members using version
    16.94 or newer.
  • Email recall only works for messages sent within the same organization on Microsoft 365 or Exchange.

Overview of Outlook Recall Feature

### Overview of Outlook Recall Feature
Outlook for Mac finally joins the unsend party with the introduction of its Outlook Recall feature!

Just like Gmail’s Undo Send, this handy tool lets you take back emails you regret sending.

Previously, this functionality was reserved for Outlook’s Windows and web apps, making it a much-anticipated addition for Mac users.

Before you dive in, remember you need to be part of the Microsoft 365 Insider program and have your app updated to version
16.94 or newer.

One key detail: this feature only works within your organization among Microsoft 365 or Exchange subscribers.

To use it, navigate to your Sent Items, right-click on the email you want to unsend, and select ‘Recall.’ A quick notification will let you know if your message was successfully pulled back.

While it’s still in beta testing, Microsoft is gearing up for a wider rollout to the Preview channel by February 2025—stay tuned for a stable release!

How to Use the Recall Feature in Outlook for Mac

When you hit ‘send’ on an email and instantly feel a pang of regret, fear not!

The Recall feature in Outlook for Mac offers a lifeline.

First, ensure you’re part of the Microsoft 365 Insider program, and that your app is at least version 16.94.

To initiate a recall, simply head over to your Sent Items, find the oh-so-troublesome email (you know the one), give it a right-click, and choose ‘Recall.’ If all goes well, you’ll see a notification confirming the successful recall, restoring your peace of mind.

Keep in mind, this feature works only within your organization—so no use trying to unsend messages to Aunt Edna from your personal email!

As the feature rolls out to the Preview channel by February 2025, it’s a game-changer for communication mishaps.

Embrace the power of ‘undo’ and save yourself from email embarrassment!
